if i get a wireless N enabled router, will i need a wireless enabled adaptor to get the high speeds?

i would like to get a wireless N rangemax DG834N but will i have to upgrade my usb adapter for my PC (currently i have the adaptor that comes with the DG 834G) and will my centrino enabled laptop give me the higher speeds that come with the N series.
what about my laptop that at the moment has centrino duo chip? can i upgrade this or will i have to start using an adaptor?

If you have a G wireless card/usb adaptor, the internet will only go at G speed. If you upgrade to an N adaptor, it will run faster as it will connect to the router at N speed.
